Assembled by natural and artificial materials, the series of photographs focuses on things that we encounter daily but rarely truly observe. Car tyres, plastic chairs and other items are re-contextualized to form peculiar compositions. The sophisticated colour palette is sourced from unremarkable objects — rubber bands, sewer tubes, insulation foam and the grey-green of various wires. Influenced by 17th century Northern European still life paintings, this work examines the transient nature of earthly matter. The photographs exude a timeless quality, seamlessly blending the traditional with the contemporary.
